23 Things on Sale You’ll Actually Want to Buy: From Blundstone to Madewell

We’ve reached the point of the year when brands start hoarding their best discounts for Labor Day sales — but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a deal right now. Reformation is deep in its summer sale, with 30 percent off hundreds of items, and Patagonia has launched its summer sale, too. There’s an excellent sale-on-sale at Urban Outfitters with discounts up to 80 percent, and I’d even argue that Target’s back-to-school sale is well worth checking out, even if you never want to step foot in a classroom ever again. The best sale of the bunch, though, is at Madewell, with a discount on denim that might be the most generous I’ve ever seen. Scroll on for all of my picks, and as always, if you want more deals sent straight to your inbox, sign up for our newsletter.

There’s a big college sale going on at Target with discounts on bedding and home organization essentials — and though most of it really does look like it belongs in a dorm room, there are some picks that would fit in an adult apartment, like this blush-colored throw pillow.

Here’s a simple, nice-looking basket to corral your odds and ends.

It’s not the fanciest electric toothbrush, but the Quip is great for travel, especially because it doesn’t come with a charging base.

Madewell rarely puts its denim on sale — let alone most of its denim, so this sale is pretty exceptional. For the next five days, you can take $50 off just about any pair with code UPGRADE, including these classic straight-legged, high-waisted jeans.

If you’ve been thinking of dipping your toe into the baggy jeans trend, these are a good way to give it a shot — especially since they’re over 40 percent off.

Urban Outfitters is taking an extra 40 percent off select items in its sales bin, bringing this colorful striped bathmat down to $12.

With the extra discount, this clip is just $3.

Here’s a handsome cone-shaped vase that really doesn’t look like it’s from Urban Outfitters.

Some Miu Miu–esque ballet flats for just $18.

If you’re a heavy sweater, consider this clinical-strength antiperspirant-deodorant. One dermatologist we spoke with uses it personally and says, “It does the trick for wetness and odor and never irritates my skin.”

With the discount, each of these kid-size water bottles is $9 — so you won’t get too mad when they inevitablely forget it at soccer practice.

This is our pick for the best (less expensive) rotary razor. It doesn’t have a ton of bells and whistles, but it does work both dry and wet, and it’s even less expensive today.

Some no-frills beach towels in a classic cabana stripe, now just $8 a piece.

If you are looking for something you can really wrap yourself up in, try these Cozy Earth bath sheets. They’re made with a blend of bamboo viscose and cotton, so they’re very plush but don’t take a long time to dry.

Cozy Earth’s bamboo sheets are also 20 percent off as part of the brand’s semi-annual sale. They’ve got a silky smooth and shiny texture, and the cool fabric means they’re ideal for those who run hot at night.

It’s Patagonia’s summer sale, making it the right time to stock up on Baggies in this season’s colors before they disappear. They’re already sold out of the medium in all colors — so if you see something you like, in your size, don’t dillydally.

The women’s Baggies are also on sale (and even cheaper than the men’s).

This pretty coral gloss from AAPI-owned Youthforia is as much a hydrating lip balm as a finishing step to your makeup routine (that’ll still make your lips shine).

In my humble opinion, linen is the thing to shop at Reformation’s summer sale, since it’s reliably good quality. I’ve got my eye on this summery, toile-inspired dress …

… as well as this slightly sexier linen dress that’s perfect for date night.

This simple photo frame would make a nice engagement gift.

Darn Tough makes some of our favorite, most durable socks — with a lifetime guarantee — and these are cute, too.

It’s rare to spot Blundstones on-sale in all sizes, especially in a color as basic as black. These are lighter than their classic 500s or 550s, but they’re still plenty sturdy for rainstorms and blizzards — and will be your must-wear shoes this fall.
